Wow, time flies this time of year I have to say, with less than 40 days left until camp. We had a fantastic BBQ this weekend for New Campers and their families. Many staff members were there also, and everyone had a great time getting to know our new family members. The new campers were able to see the freshly painted bunks and the feedback was great. Next Monday we have the 2nd Camp Kinder Ring Golf Outing. The forecast is for a perfect day of golf, as many of us look foeward to seeing friends old and new. June 10th will be Volunteer Day up at camp, and you are all invited to join us should you like. Please touch base if so. We had our first Bar Mitzvah of the season up at camp last weekend. The kids played basketball, gaga, and football prior to showering and getting ready for the festivities in the Dining Room afterwards. Camp is a great place for events like this, be sure to ask us about how we can help you. Looking forward to seeing everyone again very soon.

Well another month has flown by, which means camp is just around the block...For those of you who could not attend the reunion, we will be mailing out your DVDs over the next week or so. Be on the lookout! This is a busy time for us at camp. Personally I have been going on 2-3 home visits per week, visiting families who are interested in joining us at camp. There should be many new faces joining us this summer, which will be fun. I al also working with our camp clothing provider to offer some great new clothes to everyone. I excpect you all to be thrilled with the new products. Have a great weekend and I will see you soon!

What a great reunion we had! Thank you all for coming to NJ to join us for a great day had by all. We hope that you enjoy the Yearbook DVD and Bunks on B'way that we gave out. Today I am in the NYC office with Irene as we work on the summer plans. It just keeps getting busier, and that means that camp is getting closer. Before you know it you will be getting your clothes and equipment ready to be packed, trust me. The new KRonicles will be sent next week so be sure to keep an eye out for it. There is always useful information in there so please make sure to read and send responses if needed.

Post more frequently, post more frequently....
I get it, I need to update all of you a bit more often. This is my pre-New Year's resolution. I will update this at least 1x a week leading up to camp. I know that you all think that we just sit around and wait for camp to start, and viola, we are ready! Not so fast my friend....At this very moment we are sending out your Yearbook DVD's to be copied so that they are ready for everyone at the reunion. We will also have a DVD of the Camp Show available. This time of year we are busy recruiting both new families and new staff members for 2012. The Open Houses have been great so far, but we need to have at least 6 more of them in the first 12 weeks of 2012. Can we do it? With your help, we can do anything. Danielle (my wife) and I are taking our sons to Punta Cana for a much needed vacation next week. Irene and I were just watching the summer DVD and we miss all of you and cannot wait to see each and every one of you on January 8!!!! Have a Happy Hanukah everyone!!

Sorry that it has been so long since I last wrote, but things have been quite busy. We are already planning for 2012 and let me tell you that next summer will be even better than this one (if that is possible)! This past weekend was our Fall BBQ at camp and we had over 200 people come and spend a great day! The weather was beautiful and it was great seeing all of the campers see their friends again. We enjoy these offseason events immensely and are glad that you all do too. At the moment we are planning Open Houses all over the Tri-State area and beyond. If you are interesting in hosting, or you have friends who are interested in learning more about Camp Kinder Ring please let us know as soon as you can! I will make sure that I write more frequently here during the offseason. You can also follow us on twitter @CampKinderRing and on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/CampKR.

What a great week of Olympics we had. The campers and staff were focused from start to finish. Each night featured a special event, including Rope Burn and Tug of War. The Closing Ceremony was great as was the evening's sing. Now we are back to our regular activities this afternoon featuring lacrosse, basketball, tennis, and swim. Tonight we will be in the Performing Art's Center for "Kinder Ring's Got Talent." The evening will be hosted by myself, and 2011 Torch Bearer Ricky Posner. We have over 25 people already signed up to participate and we expect to see more. It has been a beautiful day so far and we expect more of the same tonight. I will write again soon!

Olympics are here!! It's Iceland vs. Singapore and everyone is dressed in red or blue. From a personal standpoint, last night's Opening Ceremonies were very special. I have been a part of many color wars before, but there is a uniqueness to the ceremony here that is second to none. Between a few campers and staff signing songs, to the dance and gymnastics routine, and who can forget the presentation of past Olympic flags, the night was full of splendor. I am looking forward to a great night filled with activities, highlighted by the Rope Burn. Every camp does this in some way and I am anxious for tonight's events. Please follow us on twitter @CampKinderRing and see our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CampKR for updates during the week. I will report back tomorrow!

Well the camp was a bit tired today as the Rick Recht concert was an amazing night for all of us. The Cultural Center was rocking and not a person was in their seat the entire night. We have had a few busy days in camp with regularly scheduled activities, and a lot of prep for the Camp Show on Thursday night. Sandi has been busy down in the Performing Arts Center with every group, working to get the notes and steps just right. I am looking forward to this night, and I have been for a week now. The rest of this week is packed as well, with Israeli Day on Friday followed by the Camplified concert on Saturday night. Maybe I should go and get a good night's sleep tonight so I have enough energy for the rest of the week? Who am I kidding, I always have energy. Speak to you all soon!

What a great weekend we had here at camp, led by our Visiting Day on Sunday. It was fun to see all of the families see their children and enjoy spending the day together. Saturday night we were treated to the Harlem Wizards playing against our staff on both boy’s side and girl’s side. This week at camp is Trip Week and many of our campers and counselors are travelling around all parts of the east coast. We have kids as far north as Lake George, and our Teens are on their annual trip to Florida. Also being visited are Boston and Baltimore. This weekend we host a special group of over 30 children (ages 7-10) to our KRJR 4 day/3 night mini-camp. The children will be enjoying a weekend at camp and going through our program and enjoying everything that camp has to offer. We are very excited to have these new campers join us in just a few days. I will update you all very soon!

It seems the heat has joined us this week in Hopewell Junction and we are hydrating everyone and having some extra water activities for the whole camp. Speaking of which, our campers were treated with quite the surprise Monday morning. The SoJo's and Ultras all went to the Hudson Valley Renegades for Camp Day! There were fun contests and water activities, and the kids and staff all had a great time. Also on Monday the Inters and the Seniors spent the day at Splashdown Beach, which is a fun water park. They enjoyed the slides, wave pool, and the lazy river was a favorite. The next few days are busy as we are hosting and travelling for a few tournaments, and we are busy at camp with Divisional Olympics. The campers are quite excited as we finish out a great 4th week of the summer. We are looking forward to all of the families who will be here this weekend to see their children!

What a great weekend we had here at camp, ending with the announcement of our Kinder Ring campers of the week. Our Divisional Olympics begin this week...when, we do not know! Tomorrow we host a great basketball tournament for our Super Boys (9th grade and under), along with the Super Girls Volleyball tournament. Yesterday on girls side was our first ever Battle Royal--Princess Edition. On boys side we had a double header of Kinder Conference, followed by a great camp swim. The children are all excited to see their parents in a week and it will be a nice day for everyone involved. It's hard to believe that we are beginning our 4th week of the summer already. We do have some surprises in store for the campers this week so stay tuned to find out what they are and when!

Well the last few days have been quite hot here at camp and this afternoon will be spent cooling off in the pool and the lake. This week we have hosted a girls soccer and boys basketball tournament, and the kids are all excited for a night with Ron Dagan tomorrrow. Our Mac Games concluded on Friday night with Sing, and what a great 3 days the entire camp had. The spirit and sportsmanship was a sight to see and all of our children and staff performed at high levels. At the moment we are preparing for a fun 10 days prior to visiting day, and then the week after is our KRJR program. This is a great time for 6-9 year olds to come to camp for 3 nights and to see our program in action. I will be sure to update you all soon with the latest and greatest!

Whew. We have barely had time to catch our breath since I last wrote. City Games was a hit on Saturday, and the kids all enjoyed playing the games that our parents grew up with. Box Ball was a favorite, as was punchball. We had a great finish to the weekend which included the announcement of our Mac Games leaders. These children are very excited and ready to lead their teams...we just don't know when. Yesterday we had our annual Carnival, and the SIT's of 2011 did a great job coming up with some new booth ideas, and helping to prepare for the day. Last night we were treated to the amazing magic show of Eric Wilzig. A busy week is in store as we continue to watch our campers have the times of their lives. Speak to you all soon.

What a week it has been. We hosted our first two tournaments this week, with the Ultra Girls soccer and the Junior Boys soccer. The kids had a great time and showed great hustle and sportsmanship throughout the days. Our Teens just returned from their Canada trip and are excited to get back to the camp program. Tomorrow is our first lazy Saturday, followed by the First Annual City Games day. We are going to treat the whole camp to games that our parents grew up with. They will be playing boxball, punchball, shuffleboard, running bases, handball and more. I played stoopball and punchball today with the SoJo girls during free play today, and they are now even more excited for tomorrow. We won't have much time to rest afterwards as we have our Carnival on Monday July 4th, and our SIT's are helping us get ready for a great day of fun, games, and prizes. The smiles on these kids faces are getting bigger each day, which makes everything we do worthwhile. Hope to update you all after our great weekend ahead.

Camp is in full swing as our campers have taken their swim tests, and today we are doing bunk pictures. The sun has not stopped shining since the children were dropped off and we hope it stays that way for the rest of the summer. This week clubs and clinics will start, and our Teens leave for Canada tomorrow. The staff entertained us all with their Talent Review on Saturday night and it was fun for us all. This week will be the introduction of some new and exciting activies, including Kinder Conference, and special Saturday afternoon programming for the entire camp. Stay tuned for more, and please make sure to check out Bunk1 for pictures.

What an amazing day today has been. The smiles on the faces of all the campers, returning and new, is something I will never forget. It's been a long few months getting ready for the next 7 weeks, and it was all worth it just to see the glow that is here now. Amazing things are in store this summer, and we are happy to finally be on our way. I hope to find time to write as much as possible in the coming days to tell you all about it.

Staff Orientation Begins!! What a great day it has been today, as over 50 staff members have arrived to begin orientation. You should have seen the looks on some of their faces when they saw the new bunks. Something tells me they wish they were campers again! The next few days we will all be hard at work, training to prepare for the best summer of your lives. See you soon!

Whew. What a busy few days we have had at camp. Between painting, mowing, paving, and organizing, the staff have been hard at work. We are less than 1 week away from seeing all of your smiling faces, and that is when the real fun will begin. The Medical Center Staff have been here all day getting setup, and I am happy to have finally met all of them. What a great group of people! I seem to be saying that everytime I turn around in this camp, as there are great people everywhere. We anxiously await your arrival and we are counting down the days.

What a great morning it was at breakfast to see over 50 staff members eating together, and getting ready for a busy day ahead. We are dusting off the equipment, setting up the fields and courts, and our lifeguards are in the water as we speak. Every day more and more staff are arriving to help put the finishing touches on camp. These next few days will be long and busy but the sun is shining and we are working hard. See you all soon!!

In a few hours I am headed to Newark airport, and then JFK to pick up more of our International Staff members from the airport. We already have had boys and girls arrive from Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, England, Czech Republic and Turkey. Today we add more from Israel and Russia. They are getting used to camp and are helping us get the place ready...FOR YOU! One staff member has returned for his 7th summer, after taking 5 years off. He cannot believe how amazing the bunks and the rest of camp looks and he has not stopped smiling for the past 24 hours. I hope you are all working hard to finish up school on a positive note, and are getting ready to come have the best summer of your lives. I am looking forward to the best summer of mine. 12 Days left!!!

Today is my first day officially moved up to camp, and it feels great. There are a handful of staff members who came up to the day to help work on the grounds. Brandon, Mason, Alec, Isaac, Condo, Morgan, Josh, Max, and Justin are here to help us rake, trim hedges, and do a ton of landscaping. Things are looking better and better every day. 2 weeks from right now we will be having lunch together as a family, all 500 of us. Can't wait

It keeps getting closer, and closer....
I am moving up to camp tomorrow and will be picking up many of our International staff members this weekend. By this time next week we should have at least 50 of our staff in camp, working to get it ready for all of you. Fixing bunks, painting facilities, raking leaves, and planting flowers are just a few of the things that we will be doing. And that will just be in the morning! We can't wait to see all of your smiling faces soon!

Wow. June is finally here. The next time we change months, we will all be up at camp together. My family is excited to meet everyone, but likely not as excited as I am to meet all of you. Irene has a great summer planned for everyone and I am sure you will all be even more excited in less that 4 weeks. Study hard at school and we will work hard on getting camp ready.
